The Boys is a show available on Amazon Prime and has an interesting twist compared to other superhero shows and movies. The show starts by introducing an organization called Vought, and Vought is all about “Protecting the world with their great superhero team”. The thing is, it is all a lie.
The organization started in a science lab where they created a serum called compound V. Vought bribed tons of parents around the world so they could give their serum to their babies. The babies all developed different superpowers. Besides the parents of these kids, everyone else in the world was told that these heroes were chosen by God. The organization grew and when the babies grew up, Vought picked seven of them and named the group, The Seven. The heroes in The Seven are, Homelander, the leader, Starlight, one of the Seven who is not corrupt, A Train, has super speed and is a druggie, then The Deep, he can talk to sea animals, Queen Maeve, her heart is in the right place but still corrupt, Black Noir, strong and skilled in fight, he never says a single word in the whole show, he just follows directions, and finally, Stormfront, she does not age, has lightning powers, and was a nazi. Vought and the Seven have tons of money and fame, and thats all they care about.

This show is different because the “Superheroes” are actually the bad guys… so who are the good guys?
The good guys are all enimies of the state and criminals. Ironic right?
Billy Butcher is the man all the way on the left. He started the team becuase he thinks the leader of The Seven killed, or kidnapped his wife.
The next guy in the picture is Hughie Campbell. He was the only one not a criminal. But when A Train ran through his girlfriend, because he has super speed, Hughie wants revenge and he is the first one that joins Billy.
The girl sitting on the ground is Kimiko Miya. She is from Japam but her town was overrun and she ran to America with her brother. She was also a victim of Compound V and so was her brother, so they have superpowers. She joins them because Stormfront killed her brother.
The next guy is a arms dealer that has been a criminal for a long time. He and Billy has been trying to take down The Seven for a while but they gave up.
The last guy is Mother’s Milk. He was a ciminal but then got a nice family and started a job teaching other criminal how to be better. But Billy talked him into the team because he thinks they can now take down The Seven because they now have Hughie.
I recommend The Boys to anyone who enjoys action shows or superhero movies. The boys is something new and fresh to people who are bored of the same superhero storylines. The boys has a good storyline, but even though it has action, their is less compared to other superhero films. The Boys puts most of their effort into developing the storyline. So if you only watch action for just actions scenes, maybe look for another show.
Lots of people will most likely go right ahead and compare The Boys to things like Marvel and DC films. But even though they are both superhero films, they are different. The Boys, like I said has a lot more storyline, I would say that its a drama more than an action film. Films that come from Marvel and DC have tons of action and not as much character build. So it depends on the person which type of style you prefer.

Every one is different, not everyone will like this show. But The Boys has a interesting twist on superhero films that I have never seen before. If you enjoy shows with a interesting, different story, and dont mind that its a superhero movie with not as much action, then you will want to add this show to your list.
